ConnePal Community Guidelines
Effective date: 5 October 2026
ConnePal is a place to write to strangers and, slowly, become friends. These guidelines keep it kind, safe and honest. They are part of our Terms of Service, so breaking them can lead to your account being suspended or banned.
Be kind
- Write to others the way you would like to be written to.
- Disagree respectfully. No insults, bullying, threats or harassment.
- No hate. Do not attack anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- If someone stops writing back, let them go.
Respect the mask
The mask is what makes ConnePal special. Let people show who they are when they are ready.
- Do not share or ask for email addresses, phone numbers, links or social media handles while you are masked. Our filter blocks them, and trying to get around it (by spelling them out, splitting them up or hiding them) breaks the rules.
- Do not try to work out who someone really is, where they live or how to find them outside ConnePal.
- Never share someone else's private information, and never post or forward other people's letters.
- Becoming friends only happens when both of you say yes. No pressure, ever.
Keep it clean
- No sexual content and no sexual requests. ConnePal is not a dating or hookup service.
- Absolutely nothing that sexualises or endangers children. We report it to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.
- No violence, threats, or content that promotes self-harm, drugs or weapons.
Be real
- Be yourself. Do not pretend to be someone else.
- One account per person, and you must be 18 or older.
- When you become friends with someone, your first name, photo and age must be your own and true.
No money, no scams
- Never ask anyone for money, gifts, loans or financial details.
- Never send money to someone you met on ConnePal, however sad or urgent their story sounds.
- No scams, no investment or crypto pitches, no selling, no advertising, no spam.
- No bots or automated messages.
Stay safe
- We do not run background checks, so be careful with anyone you meet online.
- Keep personal details like your address, workplace and finances to yourself.
- If you ever decide to meet a pen pal in person, meet in a busy public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, and make your own way there and back.
- If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
If something feels wrong
There is no tolerance here for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report and block any pen pal from every letter, and remove any letter you have received from your mailbox at once. Our team acts on every report within 24 hours, removing content that breaks these rules and banning the user who sent it. You can also email contact@dirwaas.com, shown in the app under My Account. Blocking stops the pen pal from writing to you. Reporting helps us protect everyone.
You can also write to us at contact@dirwaas.com.
What happens if the rules are broken
Depending on what happened, we may remove content, limit features, suspend an account or ban it permanently. Serious harm, and anything involving children, leads to an immediate ban and may be reported to the authorities.
Thank you for helping make ConnePal a warm place to write.
